    WORK EXPERIENCE

     

    Property Research/ GIS Consultant- Hoff and Leigh Commercial Real Estate, Anchorage, Alaska

    January 2016- October 2016

    • Created and maintained a customized GIS to serve the research, analysis, and communication needs of a small commercial real estate brokerage
    • Utilized GIS software to generate new business through differentiation, increased efficiency in property searches, and the use of geospatial data in graphic and analytical form to enhance the decision making processes
    • Prepared technical reports, presentations and property record research on subjects including: boundary and easement issues, property valuation, and client driven market analysis

    February 2013- September 2015, 2010 Field Season

    • Served as embedded surveyor in remote field camps on Alaska Liquefied Natural Gas Pipeline Project (AKLNG), using GIS to direct multi-discipline field crew activities and ensure land access and permit compliance for facility sites and pipeline route
    • Party chief in arctic oilfield/ heavy civil construction, responsible for layout and setting of built features such as Colville Delta-5 bridge, as well as numerous pipeline, and pad development projects in the Kuparuk and Alpine oil fields
    • Directed crew activities, operated survey instruments and trained personnel to ensure accurate observations; maintained quality control through proper field notes, equipment calibration and electronic data management 
    • Employed total stations, levels and GPS to create built features from plan set data
    • Prepared and checked plats and associated documentation to Alaska Department of Natural Resources standards, including computational checks, drafting checks, and compliance with job specifications
    • Conducted an Alaska State Land Survey cadastral and stakeholder survey in Excursion Inlet, Alaska

    2012 Field Season

    • Original cadastral survey work as party chief under contract to the Bureau of Land Management
    • Worked throughout interior Alaskan during extensive field deployments utilizing boats and helicopters to set accessories and monument corners
    • Met BLM standards for original survey work and provided solutions to complex cadastral survey issues such as obliterated monuments, riparian boundaries, and archaeological site location
    • Utilized GPS and conventional survey methods in a high production environment

    2011 Field Season

    • Developed deliverables such as maps, plats, records of survey, and as-builts through records  research and field observations
    • Prepared technical documents such as: estimated bid packages, contract reviews and site analysis for construction work

    Gained a solid foundation for a career in land surveying through university level coursework. Subjects studied included field surveying, automated mapping, GIS, photogrammetry, boundary law, survey computations, as well additional courses in mathematics, physics and technical writing.
