Pine Hill Vat - Henricks |
Two
of the pictures are of plywood lathe installations or
retrofits, one at our Foster, Oregon facility and the other
at our Wright City, Oklahoma facility. These lathes are
leveled to plus or minus 0.005" of an inch and aligned with
the flow to Plus or minus 0.010" of an inch. We use a Leica
T2002 electronic theomat, Wild NA2 level with GPM3 parallel
plate micrometer, lateral adjusting blocks, and Starrett
Machinist rules w/attachments. (see picture right) |
The
uneasy part of this type of work is the lathe will not be
completely put together and running for another 6 months.
Right now you can see the lathe clearly. It will be buried,
like a car engine, with steel components and look totally
different when operating. When you walk away from this job
it is a wait and see if all goes well. The old saying no
news is good news applies with this type of work.- Henricks |

The picture was taken on the sawmill roof at
Dallas, Oregon while we were doing a DEQ title 5 air
emission survey of all discharge points from the mill
buildings. This included all stacks, blowers, cupolas, and
in general any vent to atmosphere where process air could
vent to the outside. We took advantage of setting up on a
stable building to see on top of the various roofs and
structures. Note we had on fall protection to use as needed.
The data gathered was used to create 3D models of the air
once it left the building and traveled away from the
facility under different atmospheric weather conditions.-Henricks |
