PLSO once again requests your support for the scholarship auction during the PLSO Annual Conference at the Red Lion Hotel on the River in Portland. Your participation is solicited in two ways:
- First - contribute one or more items to the auction;
- Second – participate in both the silent auction and the oral auction Thursday, March 15; purchase an item or two in support of this worthy cause.
Many selections will be offered during the silent auction phase throughout Thursday. In the evening, a select group of items will be offered during the oral auction following dinner. Dinner is included with your conference registration and also provides some light entertainment. Door prizes will be awarded during the oral auction, although you must be present to win. Please make plans to attend and participate in both phases of the auction.
The scholarship auction is the primary means of adding to the PLSO scholarship fund. Scholarship funds are invested with, and managed by, the Oregon Community Foundation. Each contribution increases the potential scholarship awards for eligible applicants. The scholarship auction plus other contributions through the year have recently averaged about $10,000 annually. Your generous support is vital to continuing that effort.
Please complete the accompanying donation form and provide it with your donated item(s) at the conference. Deliver items on March 14 to the Hayden Room in the Red Lion. The room is located just across the lobby from the conference registration desk. If you can deliver your donation sooner, you are invited to send it with the completed form to the PLSO Office in Salem. Delivery to the PLSO Office should be made by Monday, March 12.
Your creativity and access to some unique items from your area could greatly add to the variety and quality of contributions offered at this year’s conference. Some gift ideas that have been successful in the past include:

Have fun locating and soliciting contributions that will prove both interesting and rewarding. Most important, attend the auction and support the PLSO scholarship fund.
