Leo Harris Parkway – Land Swaps and Football Facilities
The City of Eugene and the University of Oregon land swap and public improvements that allowed the UO to expand their football facilities into the previous Leo Harris Parkway ROW.
Please join the PLSO Midwest Chapter we host Doug Singer from the City of Eugene as well as Anna Backus and Wyatt Morris from KPFF Consulting Engineers as they present the details of this unique land development collaboration between the University of Oregon and the City of Eugene.
In 2023, the University of Oregon Athletics Department embarked on the development of a new Indoor Practice Facility to be located west of Autzen Stadium within the Hatfield Dowlin Complex between MLK Blvd and Leo Harris Parkway. The development would require expanding the UO owned property to the south to also accommodate two outdoor practice fields. The City and UO collaborated on a land swap and the subsequent realignment & design of the new Leo Harris Parkway to make it inviting for park visitors as well as an efficient Football Game Day tool.
