1LS Surveying is looking for an experienced and motivated Party Chief to join our growing team here in the Portland metro. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled surveyor ready to take ownership in the field while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
About the Role
As Party Chief, you'll lead field crews on a variety of surveying projects — boundary, topographic, property line adjustments, drone, (no construction) and more. You'll be the boots-on-the-ground leader responsible for crew coordination, data quality, and keeping projects on schedule. When you're not in the field, you'll have the flexibility to handle office-side responsibilities from home.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years of surveying field experience, with prior crew leadership strongly preferred
- Proficiency with total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, and data collectors (we are Trimble everything)
- Strong understanding of Oregon boundary law and surveying standards
- Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
- FS or LSI certification a plus — we support your path to licensure
