Survey Technician
Job Duties:
Property line surveying; including survey line cut out, traversing, and property line marking
Lay out and perform surveys on company grounds, both independently and as a team member
Utilize tape & compass for locating corner monuments & accessories
Assist crew with boundary surveying via total station and/or GPS
Road construction staking, road field narrative marking, and road winterization
Implementation of Sustainable Forestry Policy
Job Requirements:
Good interpersonal communication skills
Good analytical and organizational skills
Ability to use a chainsaw and proficient with an axe and machete for brush clearing
Ability to travel to different job locations spread out over a large geographic region
Ability to work independently for long periods of time on steep ground in all types of weather
A valid driver’s license and a good driving history
Preferred Skills:
1+ years of survey OR forestry related field experience
General knowledge of surveying, property ownership, and boundaries
General knowledge of the Public Land Survey System (i.e. Township, Range, Section)
Basic computer skills including email and Microsoft Word/Excel
Physical Requirements:
Walking, hiking, and standing up to 10 hours per day/5 days per week in various wooded terrain
Working in various weather climates up to 10 hours per day
Carrying equipment up to 50 lbs.
Working in an office environment up to 10 hours per day
